This task requires students to read multisyllabic words containing the wh- letter combination. Students are not asked to identify the letter combination or its sound before reading the word.
In this task, students practice the minor sound of c within -VCe patterns (when there is an a before the c).
This is the first task in which the wh letter combination appears in story text (underlined for now). It’s also the first in which the or letter combination is not underlined.
