Once Early-Reading Program's Work in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, North Carolina, featured on WCNC Charlotte

The Once Early-Reading Program operates in 16 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) schools. Journalist Tradesha Woodard of WCNC explains how CMS and Stanford University have partnered to study the Once program's impact for the 2023-2024 school year. "[Stanford will] compare the results and the progress of these students against like schools that did not have a program," said Nancy Brightwell, CMS Chief Academic Officer.

Brightwell states, "It' is amazing how the students enjoy it, and we're seeing interesting results from even our multilingual learners who aren't fluent in English at all yet."  We have high hopes for the students receiving Once, and we look forward to sharing the results from the study when they are published.
