Summary:

Tiff is reading her favorite comic book about the hero "Thunder Runner". In the comic, a tornado comes and threatens to destroy a house. Thunder Runner dives into the twister.  She runs so fast in the opposite direction of the wind that the tornado evaporates. Inspired by this story, Tiff puts on her shoes in preparation for a run.

Tiff reads a comic named "Thunder Runner."

Thunder Runner is fast. Her feet flash as she runs.

The wind cracks and roars!

That is more than a storm.  That is a twister!

If that twister hits that home, it will be gone!

Thunder Runner dove in that twister.

The wind shifts as she runs in it.

The twister is over.

Thunder Runner saved that home!

Tiff said, "I will be a thunder runner!"

This file is designed to be printed, folded, stapled, and given to students as a booklet.  

  • Step 1: To print, select “print on both sides of the paper” and “flip on the short edge” in your print menu.  
  • Step 2: Fold the printed pages along the dashed line in the center, and staple on top of the three staple images on the front cover.

When one student finishes reading the booklet, you can pass it on to the next student who is ready for it.  Or you can create one copy for each student and tell them that they can color the pictures when they finish reading it.
