Summary:

Tim is putting on a magic show for his family.  The only problem is, none of his tricks are working!  Tim is disappointed, but Mom points out that the whole point was to entertain the family--and in that sense, he was wildly successful!

Full Text:

Page 1)    Tim has a cape and top hat.  He has gathered the family for a magic performance.
Page 2)    "Pick a card, Tiff!" he said as he fanned out a deck of cards.
Page 3)    Tiff picked a card.  Tim asked, "Is it the king of clubs?" But Tiff said, "Nope."
Page 4)    Tim pulled off his hat and said, "As you can see, this hat is empty, but I will pull a rabbit out of it."
Page 5)    But when he reached inside, he did not get a rabbit.
Page 6)    Tim put the hat back on and said, "Next I shall separate the three rings."  
Page 7)    But when he pulled on them, they stayed stuck.
Page 8)    Mom went to Tim and asked, "What is the matter?" "My magic tricks failed," he muttered.
Page 9)  Mom said, "Magic tricks are for entertainment, and this performance was still quite entertaining!"
Page 10)  Tim grinned, "Then for my next trick, I will be cutting Dad in three parts!"

When one student finishes reading the booklet, you can pass it on to the next student who is ready for it.  Or you can create one copy for each student and tell them that they can color the pictures when they finish reading it.
